Cabinet and shelves vanity - The wood bathroom vanities are almost always referred to the cabinets and shelves of the bathroom. It comes either with attached mirror or in plain wooden materials. Some vanity bathroom cabinets though comes in steel which is actually cheaper. Whether steel or wood the vanity cabinets and vanity shelves are used if there's more space in the bathroom. If there is limited space vanity wall cabinets can be suitable as it is merely mounted on the wall and does not require floor space.
Moreover such vanities come handy if two people need to use the bathroom simultaneously. If the sink is properly shaped and sized they also come handy in case you have lot of hand washing to do. However you have to choose the material with care. Unless the bathroom is spacious you will do well to stick to glass vanities because glass being transparent makes the least clutter. What is more teamed with stainless steel rods pipes and brackets they look very elegant. However they need to be put against suitable background or they will not be visible at all.
One more point to remember is that when we speak of a glass or wood vanity we do not mean that they are entirely made of glass or wood but only that the bulk material is that. A glass vanity for instance is more often than not is teamed up with stainless steel to give it the look it has. A wood vanity on the other hand has a stone or metal countertop. If you like designs that are more elaborate you can look for a black wooden vanity teamed with while marble countertop and brass knobs and handles. However this too needs to be put against suitable background.
Let us have few words about different types of vanities first. All the bathroom vanities can be categorized as antique transitional and contemporary. The antique designs are as I said heavy and ornate. They are mostly made from wood and with a dash of copper or brass they really look gorgeous. However as I said they may look a little unwieldy if your bathroom is small or other fixtures are contemporary. The transitional vanities are less ornate than the antique but they too are quite bulky to be suitable for modern bathroom styles.
